Smita Bhagat is currently Country Head for Government and Institutional Business and E-Commerce & Start Ups at HDFC Bank. She has almost 25 years of working experience and has worked with companies like HDFC Ltd, ICICI Bank before joining HDFC Bank in 1999.
She serves on the Bank’s CSR Committee, and was featured in the Women Ahead 2016 list published by The Economic Times.
Smita is currently leading HDFC Bank’s effort to significantly scale the government, institutional and
start–up businesses across India. She has recently signed an MOU with CSC India to build a new banking channel working with the 300,000 CSC centers to further augment reach into semi-urban and rural markets across the country. She jointly owns the E-Commerce business in the bank with the bank enjoying a 42% market share. Smita champions women leadership and development programs within the bank and is committed to external efforts focused on women empowerment, education, skilling and sanitation.
Has been on various Government & Industry panels for Fintech / Start Ups / CSR and was recipient of "20 Influential women in Fintech" award at Integrate Zone Conclave 2019.
